ITS/Electrical Engineer

ICON is seeking an ITS/Electrical Engineer with a strong interest in developing innovative solutions to current and future transportation needs. This individual will represent ICON in our ongoing work with the Florida Department of Transportation and local municipalities on design projects.

Responsibilities

Including but not limited to:

  • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Design
  • Electrical design for street lighting, ITS, and traffic signal components
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD

Requirements
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • PE license in Florida or able to obtain within one year
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Professional demeanor
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
Environmental Scientist

ICON is looking for a full-time junior-level Environmental Scientist for our Environmental and Drainage Group. The employee will work out of our Tampa office while also providing support to our Orlando office. Work includes providing environmental support for FDOT transportation projects, county and municipal projects, and stand-alone environmental projects for public and private clients. Employee will report to Senior Environmental Scientist/Environmental Lead. Employee should have a desire to grow their career, learn new skills, and have a passion for the environmental field.

Responsibilities

Including but not limited to:

  • Wetland and surface water delineations
  • Species surveys and permitting
  • Mitigation monitoring
  • Seagrass surveys and monitoring
  • Federal, state, and local environmental permitting
  • GIS analysis and mapping
  • Project pursuit assistance

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of BS/BA in natural science (e.g. environmental science, ecology, or similar)
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Experience or mid-level coursework in GIS software (ESRI products)
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially WORD and EXCEL
  • Ability and willingness to safely work independently in the field
  • Professional writing skills
  • Strong plant identification skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and plans
  • Personal commitment to quality and ethics
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle (clean driving record)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on FDOT projects
  • FWC Gopher Tortoise Authorized Agent
